VZERO has successfully delivered a state of the art thermomechanical testing system to one of the word leading companies in cable trays and supports manufacturing: BASOR ELECTRIC, S.A.


This thermomechanical testing system, completely designed and manufactured by VZERO, has been customized to fully meet customer’s requirements. It features the following key points:

  • Compliant with UNE-EN-61537 and NEMA regulations for thermal and structural testing and certification of cable trays and supports with regard to their SWL (Safe Working Load).
  • Able to work in SWL search mode.
  • Climatic chamber to perform mechanical tests up to 70 Celsius degrees.
  • Telescopic, fully adjustable whiffle-tree actuation system to simulate uniformly distributed loads over the specimens. The same technology used for airplane wing testing has been used for this purpose.
  • High performance electromechanical servoactuators with excellent efficiency, accuracy and repeatability. This actuation system holds a number of advantages over traditional actuation methods (hydraulic, pneumatic) such as clean operation, reduced noise, longer life and less maintenance needs.
  • Very high accuracy instrumentation to control applied load and read specimen displacements
  • High performance control hardware to perform multiaxial load control, taking into account coupling between actuators.
  • Completely customized Software Suite. Entirely programmed by VZERO with National Instrument’s LabVIEW, allows user to readily define and execute tests and quickly review, analyze, treat and generate reports from tests data.

This cutting-edge testing system will allow BASOR to perform certification, CoP and R&D tests improving their designs. Flexibility, high productivity and very low maintenance needs together with cost effectiveness have been the key design requirements posed from the very beginning of the project.
